Brijesh Sharma: J&K Pacer Makes Debut for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026
Guwahati: Jammu and Kashmir fast bowler Brijesh Sharma marked a significant milestone in his career by making his debut for Rajasthan Royals against Chennai Super Kings in the third match of Indian Premier League 2026 at the ACA Stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati.
The 27-year-old pacer was picked up by Rajasthan Royals at the 2026 IPL auction for his base price of ₹30 lakh, reflecting the franchise’s confidence in his potential.
Brijesh began his cricketing journey representing Jammu and Kashmir at the U-19 and U-25 levels, steadily rising through the domestic ranks. His breakthrough performance came in the 2025 Bengal Pro T20 League, where he impressed with 11 wickets in just seven matches, catching the attention of IPL scouts.

In his debut outing, Brijesh joined an experienced pace attack alongside Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, and Sandeep Sharma. He made an immediate impact by claiming his maiden IPL wicket, dismissing Kartik Sharma leg-before in the 11th over.
Rajasthan Royals, aiming to bounce back from a disappointing ninth-place finish in the 2025 season, will be hopeful that emerging talents like Brijesh Sharma can strengthen their campaign this year.
